No cost, low-cost outreach resources available from PEMR
The Public Education and Media Relations Department (PEMR) has several no- or low-cost resources available to help you take musculoskeletal health and wellness messages to the community. A manual offers ideas and strategies for educating community audiences about orthopaedics; the Media Training Manual can help you field tough media questions. Available on loan is a tabletop Prevent Injuries America!® booth, featuring
graphics from past years’ public service announcement campaigns with corresponding injury prevention tips—available for use in public events. Request PSA postcards to complement your presentation.
Posters and postcards are available featuring print ads in the Academy’s Public Service Announcement campaign and can be used in your office, public outreach efforts, or in partnership with the Community Orthopaedics Awareness Program (COAP), a series of PowerPoint presentations available on the AAOS Web site geared for public audiences. Visit the PEMR home page to download the presentations. For information on how you can receive these materials, call Pat Julitz at (800) 346-2267, ext. 4036, or e-mail mailto:email@example.com.
