The Academy's Annual Meeting preparations are underway with registration packets being sent to members in mid-October. This year's deadline for advance registration is Jan. 11, 1996. All individuals planning to attend the Annual Meeting are encouraged to register by this date. As reported in the August AAOS Report, the Annual Meeting's Opening Ceremony will be held later than in than in the past - from 4-5:30 p.m. - on Thursday, Feb. 22. Presentation of the Kappa Delta Awards, the Steindler Lecture, and the ORS/AAOS Sympoisum will be held prior to the Opening Ceremony, starting at 1 p.m. on Feb. 22.
The Academy's Instructional Course Committee will introduce several new types of course formats and topics in Atlanta. The schedule features 144 instructional course and 17 lecture demonstration courses. Fifty-two new instructional course topics have been added to this year's Annual Meeting schedule. The committee also has scheduled three-hour instructional courses, and three- and four-hour lecture demonstration courses. At previous Annual Meetings, only two- and four-hour instructional courses and two-hour lecture demonstration courses were scheduled.
