Annual Meeting registration packets to be sent in October

Registration packets for the Academy's 66th Annual Meeting, Feb. 4-8, 1999, in Anaheim, Calif. will be sent to members in early October. Attendees are encouraged to submit their registration forms by the advance registration deadline date of Dec. 16. The deadline to secure housing in Anaheim, Calif. is Jan. 8, 1999.

Evening educational activities have been added to this year's Annual Meeting schedule-two instructional courses will be held on Thursday, Feb. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m., and the session "Up Close and Personal," formerly titled "Ask the Professor: Case Controversies" is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday; the topic is pediatric forearm fractures. Scientific and poster exhibits along with the Resource Center also will be open Thursday evening until 7 p.m. Similar to last year, technical exhibit halls will be open on Thursday, Feb. 4 to Saturday, Feb. 6, and will be closed on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 7-8.

In addition, Jay Leno, comedian and host of NBC's Tonight Show, will be the featured entertainment at the AAOS President's Concert to benefit the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation on Saturday, Feb 6 at 9 p.m. Tickets to the event will cost $100 per person, and can be ordered by using the advanced registration form included in the Annual Meeting registration packet sent by the Academy in October.
