Members of the Committee and the Internet Society of Orthopaedics and Trauma will show you how easy it is to use the power of the Internet. You can reach out to your patients and the public with a web site that displays your name, photo, educational background, board certification, focus and affiliations. Your site also will have your office hours and insurance plans accepted, and a street map to pinpoint your location.
You can link directly to patient/ public education resources on Your Orthopaedic Connection on the AAOS home page. Almost 300 fact sheets, brochures and booklets, all peer reviewed by orthopaedic surgeons, are available. The popular site has attracted more than 700,000 page views since it was launched in March 2000.
The information will allow your patients to be better informed prior to an office visit, allowing you to focus more on exploring solutions to the patient's complaint, rather than explaining the problem. The information also can be down-loaded and handed to your patients to read after they have gone home.
While you're at the booth, you'll be able to see the redesigned AAOS home page www.aaos.org. It features new navigation tools and new graphics.
