BONES Benchmarking Survey presents competitive information, opportunityBy Julie Kahlfeldt
Running an orthopaedic practice is an increasingly complicated task. The BONES Society, the leading national association of orthopaedic practice administrators, provides its members with a unique tool to compare their practices with similar ones, based on group, size or region.
The annual Orthopaedic Practice Benchmarking Survey is an invaluable, on-line tool that enables orthopaedic surgeons and their practice administrators to compare their current practice information (including accounts receivable and ancillary services) and make informed decisions about their financial future.
A preliminary memo to BONES Society members has already been mailed reminding them to gather vital year-end information that will be collected, confidentially, in the survey. If your practice administrator is a BONES member, we encourage your participation in this survey. If you haven't already completed the survey, please do so when you return to your practices; the submission deadline is March 4.
If your practice administrator is not a member of the BONES Society, joining now will enable him or her to access orthopaedic-specific education programs, participate in networking opportunities and learn about resources to help work smarter, not harder.
Only BONES members can access the data collected through the Orthopaedic Practice Benchmarking Survey. Other non-orthopaedic-specific surveys of this magnitude can cost $1000 or more. But BONES membership gives your practice access to orthopaedic-specific information on topics such as physician compensation, practice costs, management compensation and ambulatory surgical centers. This is an investment in your practice that you can't afford to miss.
Visit www.bonessociety.org or call the society's office at (800) 247-9699 to participate in the Orthopaedic Practice Benchmarking Survey or for membership information.
