Boston Red Sox teach kids to PLAY, combat obesity

On May 21, nearly 100 lucky Boston-area youngsters had an unforgettable day at the old ballpark—a day that their parents, grandparents, and even great-grandparents could only dream of when they were kids. Not only did the young fans get to run freely on the hallowed grounds of Fenway Park, they were joined by Boston Red Sox players sporting newly minted World Series rings.

The PLAY campaign is a program of the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS) in partnership with the AAOS and the American Diabetes Association.

The 2005 campaign also includes events and activities with the Baltimore Orioles, Atlanta Braves, Arizona Diamondbacks, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Phillies, Seattle Mariners and Minnesota Twins.
