Bone and Joint Decade update
The United Kingdom has joined the list of nations that have designated 2000-2010 as the Bone and Joint Decade. Other nations are Bulgaria, Georgia, Hungary, Iran, Netherlands, Taiwan and Tanzania.
Efforts are underway the to get the endorsement of the United States and the United Nations. The state of Texas also has designated 2000-2010 as the Bone and Joint Decade.
Thirty-six countries have established National Action Networks to coordinate participation by musculoskeletal care, patient and industry organizations in their countries. The National Action Network Steering Committee in the U.S. is planning a meeting in the fall.
