Orthopaedists, others to build playground at Annual Meeting
Everyone is invited to pitch-in to build a playground on Tuesday Feb. 27, the day before the start of the AAOS Annual Meeting in San Francisco.
The safe, accessible playground will be built at Coyote Point, a large public park in San Mateo County, located south of the airport in San Francisco.
Orthopaedic surgeons and their families, state and specialty orthopaedic societies, orthopaedic industry representatives and community volunteers will meet at the park to build the playground in a single day.
The day begins at 8 a.m. and finishes approximately 4:30 p.m. Buses will run between the Moscone Convention Center and the playground site every two hours from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The similar safe, accessible playground was built in Orlando, preceding the 2000 Annual Meeting.
