KarenZupko & Associates, in cooperation with the Academy, will present a series of workshops this year, Reimbursement and Coding for Orthopaedic Surgeons - 1996 Update. The workshops will include the 1996 CPT spine code changes.
A new course, "Diagnosis and Treatment of Accounts Receivable Problems," will be offered in combination with the reimbursement workshop. Designed specifically for orthopaedic practices, the focus of this three-hour course is to determine the causes for increasing receivables and growing adjustments, as well as write-offs.
The full-day coding and reimbursement workshop, designed for orthopaedic surgeons and key support staff, will cover understanding and differentiating between reimbursement rules and coding rules. Comparisons between CPT, ICD-9, RBRVS, and McGraw-Hill Relative Values for Physicians will be illustrated for specific orthopaedic surgery concepts.
The coding and reimbursement workshops will be held March 23, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Aug. 25, San Francisco; and Sept. 21, Dallas.
The Accounts Receivable Workshop/Coding and Reimbursement Workshops will be held April 26 and 27, New York; May 17 and 18, Atlanta, Ga.; July 12 and 13, Chicago; Oct. 4 and 5, Baltimore; Oct. 18 and 19, Newport Beach, Calif.; and Nov. 1 and 2, Chicago.
