"Skeletal Complications of Malignancy," a two-day clinical symposium, will be held April 19-20, at the National Institutes of Health's Natcher Building Conference Center, Bethesda, Md. The symposium is sponsored by the Paget Foundation for Paget's Disease of Bone and Related Disorders, the National Cancer Institute, the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, the National Institute of Dental Research and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. The symposium will cover the effects of different malignancies on the skeleton, including breast and lung cancer, other solid tumors, prostate cancer and myeloma. The pathophysiology and management of osteolytic and osteoblastic metastases and hypercalcemia will be reviewed.
