PR Director Honored for eMotion exhibit

On May 3, 2002, the Publicity Club of Chicago presented its highest award for creativity to Sandra R. Gordon, director of AAOS public education and media relations, for development of eMotion Pictures: An Exhibition of Orthopaedics in Art, an international art exhibition. The art exhibit was inspired by physical pain and recovery and created by artists and orthopaedic surgeons whose lives have been touched by an orthopaedic condition.

The Publicity Club of Chicago Golden Trumpet Awards are presented for excellence in planning, creativity and execution in public relations programs. The Creativity Award honors distinguished individual achievement in public relations.

Gordon has been director of the Academy’s department of public education and media relations for the past three years. She has been the recipient of more than 200 awards for excellence in advertising and communications in her career.
