Annual Meeting is premier educational event

The 68th Annual Meeting of the AAOS, to be held in the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco Wednesday, Feb. 28 through Sunday, March 4, 2001, will demonstrate once again why it is the premier orthopaedic educational meeting in the world.

Symposia. A record number of symposia–27–will cover subject matter as diverse as emerging technologies in biomaterials and gene therapy to operative management of pediatric fractures.

Technical exhibits. New orthopaedic equipment, devices and services will be displayed by more than 400 exhibiting companies in Halls A, B, C and D of the Moscone Convention Center. Exhibits will be open Wednesday, Feb. 28 through Friday, March 2.

Educational programming. The program includes a wide range of topics in the 218 podium presentations, 477 poster presentations, 181 instructional courses and 77 scientific exhibits. Scientific sessions will be held Wednesday, Feb. 28 through Sunday, March 4. Specialty Society Day is Saturday, March 3. The sessions will be held at the Moscone Convention Center or nearby hotels.

Special notice to presenters: The Committee on the Annual Meeting along with the Committee on Instructional Courses and the Committee on the Scientific Program are moving to a computer-oriented format at the Annual Meeting. Each room will have a PC and a Macintosh computer available for the speaker’s presentation.
