October 2001 Bulletin

Online registration will be quick and easy

Online registration for the AAOS Annual Meeting is quick and easier than ever. Fifty percent of 2001 Annual Meeting registrations were completed online last year, and that number may increase significantly for the 2002 Annual Meeting.

October 17, 2001 is the registration kickoff date for the Feb. 13-17, 2002 AAOS Annual Meeting in Dallas. Simply log on to the AAOS web site (www.aaos.org), click on the Annual Meeting tab, then click on registration and follow the directions that are provided. A housing link and an air reservations link also will be posted.

Deadline for advance registration is Jan. 2, 2002. The Academy offices will be closed the week of Dec. 24, 2001, through New Year’s Day, so it’s best to register early.

To make the registration process more flexible, this year members will be able to go back online and add courses after their initial registration. If you don’t have time to choose all your courses the first time, you can always log back on later. However, this applies to adding courses only. If cancellations or corrections need to be made, registrants will be required to fill out a special form–provided online–for that purpose.

Annual Meeting registration packets will be mailed to U.S. members on October 15. If you don’t receive your packet right away, nearly all of the information can be found online. The preliminary program is available on the web site, as well as instructional course information, special event information, symposia, etc.
